The Miamians 2026 Installation Banquet

Each year, The Miamians hold an installation banquet to swear in our new officers, for our Director and President to recognize member contributions, and to recognize the 2025 Barbershopper of the Year (B.O.T.Y.)

This year’s banquet was held on January 20 at Village Tavern in Pembroke Gardens.

Our emcees, Dominc Lamberti and Arne Themmen, entertained us and did the swearing-in of the new Board of Directors (who happened to be same guys as last year).

As expected from a group of barbershopers getting together, there was a lot of singing.

Here are some pictures from the installation banquet

Arne Themmen (seated) and Dominic Lamberti (with microphone) swear in the 2026 Board of Directors (L-R) Randy Harner, Enrique Caravella, Chris Railey, Rich Haney, Ernie de la Fe and Glenn Smith. All board members promised to give all of their time (and gold bullion) to the Miamians.

President Enrique Caravella gives his remarks.

Director Alex Rubin gives his remarks, telling us to keep singing at the same excellent level but asked us to bring more members to the chorus.

Barbershopper of the Year (BOTY) Award. Previous BOTYs met and chose Glenn Smith as the chorus’ 2025 BOTY.

The Rick Ogden Award plaque, to which BOTY names are added each year, was full. A decision was made to honor late member Lew Geer (shown on plaque) in creating a new award plaque.

Glenn Smith, 2025 Barbershopper of the Year, receives first Lew Geer Award from Ernie de la Fe.

Lew’s daughter Jennifer, wife Hilda and friends Nancy and Carl were invited to our banquet in honor of the first Lew Geer BOTY Award.
